Amy Schroads asked me to take a look at the existing Stanford alumni magazine logotype. The logotype hadn’t changed in almost thirty years and was looking very out of date. I suggested that we keep the basic structure of the logotype but redraw everything to be more modern. Amy was in agreement and I changed everything but the general idea. Touching anything related to a university’s aesthetic heritage is very, very perilous but, as far as I know, there were no angry alums.
